Can One Go Overboard Living The Green Life?

It pays great dividends trying to live a lifestyle that's as eco-friendly as possible. It's better for the world, and it's pretty good for your life as well. However, it sometimes seems that some people might be taking the lifestyle a bit too far. Or are they?

Ed Begley, Jr, is a living example of someone who totally lives the green lifestyle. He recycles everything; water, waste, electricity… whatever he can recycle, he will. He generates his own electricity, and is totally off the grid. He's changed all the light bulbs in his house to LED bulbs only uses all natural cleaning products. And he drives an electric car; he's one of the first people to own an electric car.

Ed is totally happy with his lifestyle; his wife is not. She understands the need to be as energy efficient as possible, but she also likes a little bit of luxury here and there. And that's sometimes the problem with going a bit overboard with the green lifestyle. Sometimes, it's hard finding someone who's going to be 100% compatible with that type of lifestyle, and one needs to think about weighing fairness with trying to save the ecology of the world. His kids also would like a few more liberties as well.

Living an eco-friendly lifestyle doesn't mean you can't do some things you'd like to do. You can still buy some nice clothes. You can still take some hot showers. You can still pop something in the microwave here and there. You can still drive a regular car, although you might want to go with a hybrid for higher gas mileage. You can still buy products that work, even cleaning products, but you can get products that are biodegradable, which means safe for humans, pets, and the land.

Creating your own energy is a good thing if you can do it. As a matter of fact, there are many creative things you can do to create energy, and if you create enough of it, energy companies by law have to buy the excess from you.

In other words, adding some green into your daily life is a good thing. You just don't have to go overboard and take away some of those little enjoyments life brings.
